Free Kodak Gold Lightroom Preset
For Fujifilm users who edit in Lightroom, I'm sharing my Kodak Gold preset which is built over the 'Classic Chrome' profile.
This preset captures the warmth associated with the film stock and excels in bright conditions. When making this, I was focused on capturing the mood and vibes of Gold rather than producing a technically accurate emulation. This preset comes closer to RNI All Films' interpretation in output, but tends to give me much more latitude for further edits.
A note on usage: This preset will only work with Fujifilm .RAF files compatible with the Classic Chrome profile.
You'll notice that the tone sliders, saturation, and vibracy are set to 0. I believe when other presets bake this in, it can be more inhibiting than helpful. Every photo is different in exposure, contrast, saturation and dynamic range, and need their own specific changes to properly emphasize their qualities. I encourage you to move these around on a per shot basis. The preset focuses on adapting color - you'll find the RBG curves, color mixer, and color grading have been transformed to make Color Chrome closer to that vibrant and warm Gold feel.
